Invitation letter is needed ot not??

Hello there,
I have applied for a business/trade visa, and as I am submitting the invitation letter from a Chinese organisation, I have been asked to provide passport copy or Chinese ID of the person signing the letter, and also the signature needs to be in Chinese?! There is not information on this anywhere, when mentioning the invitation letter needs to be provided. How come??

Martina, in some cases, the copy of the inviter’s passport or Chinese ID is required and if the inviter is a Chinese national, the signature should be signed in Chinese.
