About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

i arrive evening of may 1st and depart evening of may 7- will this qualify?

if it starts 00 hour on may 2 as these rules say, seems like it would work?

Kara, may I know where you will arrive? If you will transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang or Jiangsu for less than 144 hours, and after transiting there, you will fly to a third country or region instead of the one you departed, the 144 hour free transit can cover your travel.
