72 hour visa waiver policy

Hi
I have a meeting in Shanghai on the 28th April. I will leave Shanghai within 24 hours. I have a UK Passport. Do I need to get an entry permit before I go or can I apply at Shanghai airport.
Thanks

ST, if the country you will go to is different from the last one you departed, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. In this case, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit before you go there.
