About:China Visa Application Requirements

Requirement for visa vis a vis study

If I wanted to go to China to study Buddhism in a monastery, will I be granted an entry permit to do that?

Carmen, it's possible to get it, but I don't think you can get a normal X type which are usually issued to foreign students. You may get an F type (for cultural exchange) or a tourist L type. Please contact the monastery and see if they can get an invitation letter for you.
