About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hrs apply

Hello, Just wanted to double check if the 144 hours apply for the following:

1. Passenger 1: - Abu Dhabi to Shanghai/PVG. Stop for 144 hours. Then Shanghai/PVG to Bangkok then Abu Dhabi.
2. Passenger 2: - Abu Dhabi to Shanghai/PVG. Stop for 144 hours. Then Shanghai/PVG to Abu Dhabi.

Also, stay permit on arrival in Shanghai? Both are US Citizens. Thank you!

Eva, passenger 1 can enjoy the 144-hour free transit policy while passenger 2 cannot.
By stay permit on arrival in Shanghai, do you mean the visa on arrival? It's almost impossible to get it for US citizens.

Thank you for your quick response. For the Stay permit, I was referring to the 144 hour stay permit. Our airline requires a visa before we board, also the hotel requires this. Where can we get it ahead of time?

Well, you cannot get it ahead of time. I think the airline should know about this policy. And you can get it at Shanghai airport so that you can show it to the hotel when you check in.
