requirements for chinese L visa

Thank you so much for this helpful service. i am in italian citizen, i lived for 2 and a half years in china with a working permit then i held a business visa for 3 years while i was often travelling and staying in PRC for work. I have my residency in shanghai still. My business M type is experied since a couple of month. I am traveling to PRC in 2 weeks to collect some personal items and say hello to my friends. I was thinking to apply for a tourist L type in los angeles as i am going first there tomorrow. I have no more a working contract. How can i prove my legal stay or my resident status. Which kind of documents can i submit to the chinese consulate of los angeles. Unfortunately i cannot apply to it in italy. Thanks for your help

Giorgio, if so, you can apply for a tourist L type to PRC. in this case, you can provide your legal stay there when you enter PRC. The required documents are as follows:
1. Your passport and copy of its data page
2. The filled-out application form attached with a recently-taken passport-sized color photo
3. Your valid entry permit to USA
4. Round trip air tickets and hotel reservation, or an invitation letter from your friend in PRC.
And then you can submit your application to the consulate general of PRC in Los Angeles to apply for it.
