Hi, the former is in downtown area and operates more regular trains and some bullet trains, and the latter, in the east of the city, is a high-speed rail station, around 6km from city center. If your friend takes high speed train from Suzhou, she may go to East Rail Station. English signs are clear in both stations. No worry!
