16 hr layover in Shanghai..Philippine passport need a visa to go to hotel outside airport?

I have a Philippine passport and for a 16hr layover in Shanghai would like to go to a hotel near the airport. Do I need an entry permit?

Eva, after transiting in Shanghai, if your next destination is different from the last one you departed, you don’t need an entry permit because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit.
You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport if you want to leave the airport and stay at a hotel. It is free of charge.
