It is a comprehensive art form singing, dialogue, acting, and acrobatic combat. You may find there are not too many props on the stage. Actor will use his moves to let you know what he is doing. Each movement, like closing the door, mounting a horse, or taking a boat, should obey a set of fixed formality. Thus, it would take years of hard work to digest all the moves and master them.

You will find actors all wear a painted facial makeup. Different colors of the makeup can tell the personality of a figure. For example, red represents loyalty and bravery; black stands for integrity and uprightness; white is symbol of cattiness and suspiciousness. Only the makeup can be separated out to be an independent art form.
