About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Chicago > Shanghai > Sydney

If I am staying the night in Shanghai using the 72 hour free visa, do I have to claim my luggage or can I leave it at the airport and assume it will be put on my flight to Sydney?

Tyson, if you use a joint-way flight ticket, it's possible that your luggage will be checked through to the final destination. If you use separate tickets, you may need to claim your luggage. You can double check this with your airline.
