About:China Work Visa

Applying for a Z visa in China

I am an American and have a Bachelor's degree from a renowned college in the United States. Right after I graduated I studied in PRC for their Chinese program and have been teaching for weekend English classes (probably not reported by my employer to the Chinese officials) for a year. Now I wish to obtain a Z type for full-time teaching for perhaps only the near future. Is there anyway for me to do it? Does my 1-year teaching experience count? Any experience certificates do I need? Where are the places that also look for English teachers, in addition to the weekend language schools that are so often exploitive?

Matt, the first thing is to find a school in PRC to employ you. Many schools are looking for English teachers. You can search the relevant information on the internet. After you find a job, your employer will get you the work permit and invitation letter of a duly authorized unit. And then you can apply for the work Z type to go to PRC and work.
When your employer applies the work permit for you, proof of your 2-year work experience is required. But sometime, it’s not that strict if you find a job In small city. Anyway, it’s worth a try.
