Which visa do I need for my children?

I am a US citizen and have been living and working in China for several years now. I have a Z visa and a residence permit. Which type do I need for my children to visit? ...And do I need to register them with the local police once they arrive?

DA, how long will your children stay with you? If it's not more than two months, it's advised to apply for a tourist L type. If the visit is longer, they can apply for an S type.

No matter what type they apply, they need to visit the local police within 24 hours after they arrive.
