Taxi/Metro from panyu wanda square to Canton trade fair

I'm looking out to book an apartment in Panyu for 6 nights.
My main purpose of visiting guangzhou is canton fair. I will be attending the fair for 4 days.

I noticed that metro from the apartment to canton fair takes 1 hour 40 minutes. And taxi takes 20 minutes (14 Kms). How much will taxi and metro cost me from my apartment to canton fair.

Which is better option for me? I speak English.
