About:China Visa Application in UK

Round trip air tickets are needed?

Hi, We are looking to travel China for about 10 days in Jan '17, When is the soonest we can apply for our visa(L)? Will we have to have both sets of flights booked for entry and exit? as we plan to enter at Beijing and leave most likely at Shanghai? Also seen about having to have a place of residence before you can enter within 24 hours? How do we stand if we are backpacking and staying in different hostels in different cites?
Thanks,

Iain, you can apply for it three months earlier before your travel, but you are advised to apply for it one month earlier before your travel.
You need to provide the round trip air tickets and hotel reservation. You can just make a rough travel plan and provide most of the hotel booking record.
Or if you cannot make a plan in advance, you can find a travel agency or someone you know in PRC and then ask for an invitation letter. In this case, the round trip air tickets and hotel reservation won’t be necessary.
