I have not heard of the ferry between Guangzhou and Lantau Island. You may take subway to Hung Hom and then take train to Guangzhou.

Yes. There are ferries between Guangzhou and HongKong. The ferry from Guangzhou Panyu LianHuaShan Port Passenger Transport departs at 08:30, 10:30, 15:20 and 18:00 to HK City. The ferry from HK City departs at 07:45, 11:00, 13:30 and 18:20 to LianHuaShan port. The ferry from HK City to Nansha port is available at 8:00, 11:00, 13:30 and 16:30.
