What type of luggage to take to China?

That totally depends on how many things you want to pack. Just some tips for you: you must be taking a plane to get in CN. There is a limitation of the luggage’s size on the flight. Generally for carry-on luggage, it should not exceed 20cm x 40cm x 55cm and the total length of the three sides of check-in luggage must be less than 158cm. There is no size limitation on the train, but remember not to take prohibited items. To have a nice trip, don't bring too much stuff, only some necessities and outfits. Have Fun~
