Dear, you should first have the birth certificate notarized by the local notary public, and then have it attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in South Africa if you are from there). After that, take the birth certificate to the embassy of PRC to get it authenticated. In this case, the birth certificate will be recognized in PRC.
