flight to shanghai from france through hong kongback again through hong kong

can I use the 144 hours visa  if I fly to Shanghai from France  through Hong Kong with a stop over  there  and back to France after 4 days again through Hong Kong but with transit only  ?

Jean, I’m afraid you cannot use the free transit because after your stay in Shanghai, you fly back to HK, even though it’s just a transit. You need to apply for a tourist L type in advance of your trip. Or if you fly back to France directly from Shanghai without transiting in HK, you can enjoy the free transit.
