About:China Visa

Can I have two visas L and Z in my passport?

I am Canadian citizen. I am planning to obtain 10 year L type. In the mean time I might get an employment ,thus receiving Z one year permit. L type will be valid after Z expires.
Question:
Once I get Z type ,will that immediately cancel my existing L type?
That would be undesirable scenario for me as I still want to travel China after my employment ends, dont want to apply again for new tourist L type.

Louie, yes, once you get work Z type, the L type will be voided. You cannot hold both types at the same time.
Actually, when you work in PRC, you will get the temporary residence permit and you can travel all over PRC with the residence permit as long as it’s valid.

that will not be good for me as L visa is valid 10 years while z visa is only good for 1 year plus extensions.
