Validity of Inviter's residence permit

I work in china and my residence permit has validity till October 2016. I renew it every october. My wife plans to move to China in July 2016. Is it mandatory that my residence permit has more than 6 months validity at the time she applies for her S1 visa? Can she apply for S1 for her travel to china in July? If not, what are other options available?

Kaushik, for what I know, it's not mandatory that your residence permit must have more than 6 months' validitiy at the time your wife applies for the S1 type. She can apply for it in July. The only thing is after she enters, she should get a residence permit, just like what you do. But the validity of her residence permit will be consistend with yours. So it's only valid till October 2016. And there is some possiblities that she may be issued an S2 instead of the S1.
