About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

transit in Shanghai, No passport

I am in the US Military traveling on leave from Seoul, South Korea to Los Angeles, United States with a 3 hour layover in Shanghai. I have applied for a passport, but will not get it in time for my flight, will I need to apply for a visa?

Graham, if you don’t have passport, I’m afraid you are not allowed to enter PRC.
