Is it possible to drive from shangri la to lugu lake directly? If yes, how long is the journey?

Yes, it is feasible. The distance is about 270 miles (435 km), and some roads are not in perfect condition. The trip takes about 8 to 9 hours. :) You'd better have a Chinese or guide as companion in case.0

thank you for your infos. I'd also like travel by road from Shangri-la to Lugu Hu soon. Would you be able to please give some more details about the road you took and suggest which driver to contact.

Hi, Tania! I remembered nearly the entire journey is on mountain road and the duration is about 8-9h. As for driver, many private cars provide the service, and you can find them through the hotels. But that’s a little expensive, around 2,000RMB. You are suggested to share the fare with other visitors.0
