About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

converting X1 to S1, it is possible?

Hi, I just got a job in Shanghai and my husband's student visa is expiring. I want to convert my husband's student X type to dependant S type without leaving China.

Yes, it’s possible to change X1 type to S1 type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.

I haven't done it myself but I heard others has done it sucessfully. Actually there are some sites fore reference, but I don't think it's useful for you because they only present in Chinese language. If it's convenient for you, you can go to the Exit and Entry Administration to learn about more information.

Add: No. 1500, Minsheng Road, Pudong New District.
You can take Subway line 2 or 9 to get there.
