About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit shanghai

We are travelling from Germany to Vietnam. On our flight back to Germany we will have a stopover in Shanghai for 24 hours. We would like to leave the airport and do some sightseeing in shanghai. Is this possible without Visa?
We are both german passport-holders.

Jill, yes, it’s possible. But you may be required to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport and it’s free.
