About:The Bund Shanghai

Local food and buys around Xiaonanmen Metro Station, Shanghai.

I will be staying at Chichen Boutique Hotel at 21, Qiao Jia Road very near to Xiaonanmen Metro Station.

1) I wish to enjoy local food for breakfast and dinner meaning where locals usually go and not much of a tourist price. Can anyone recommend me some shops, type of food and average food/drink price?

2) What are the special or targetted items that tourist or locals usually buy home as a gift or momento?

1. Xiaoxian Shengjian and Xiaoyang Shengjian (Yang's Fry Dumpling) are recommended. Shengjian (Fried Stuffed Bun) is a typical local snack. These two brands win popularity among local people. For one meal, the average cost is CNY 15 to 20 per person.
Xiaoxian Shengjian: No.385, Dongjiadu Road, Huangpu District
Xiaoyang Shengjian: 1F, No.489, South Henan Road, Huangpu District
2. Gu Embroidery Products, wood carvings, Chinese Silk, crab-yellow pastry, chop rice cake and spiced beans are popular ones. You can easily find many souvenir shops along Nanjing Road and around Yuyuan Garden. Hope you like.
