best section of wall for us?

Hi we are travelling to Beijing at the end of March and we are staying for 4 days. We have a 5 year old with us. Which is the best section of wall to visit at this time of year (we are happy to do some hiking), and which one is easiest to get to?

In my opinion, Mutianyu is the best for hiking. It is not so hard and I think it is very beautiful. Besides, you are with a 5 year old child, so you can take the cable car up and slide down by the toboggan. I believe your child will love it.

Do you know if there's a section also worth a visit from Xian as we head there after Beijing. I would love to see more than one section.

There is several sections in Shaanxi province, but they are far from Xian and I think it is not worth a visit. If you want to see more section, you may stay one more day in Beijing to see Badaling, Juyongguan, Simatai, etc.
