Renew of Hong Kong passport

Dear Sir
I am a Hong Kong Citizen and my old Hong Kong passport already expired. Because of my job is in Miami, Florida and I can return to Hong Kong to renew my passport at this moment. Someone told me that I can renew the document at the Chinese Consulate office in New York. If the answer is yes, please give me the full procedure details to apply. Also, how much is the cost? How long will take?
Thank you so much

Tommy, you should renew it at the consulate general of PRC in Huston.
You need to first prepare the required materials including the application form, 2 passport-style photos, your HK ID card and your current passport. And then submit your application to the consulate general of PRC to apply for the renewal.

It usually costs HK$370 (or US$48) for 32 pages and HK$460 (or US$59) for 48 pages. Besides, you also need to pay the commission fee and other subcharge. When you apply for it, you will know the exact charges.

If you submit the application in person, you can pay in cash, by EPS, or by a crossed payable to 'The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region'.

1. Dear, usually, the consulate general doesn’t accept the mailed application, so you’d better submit it in person, or entrust someone to hand in it for you. Besides, Florida doesn’t belong to the consular district of New York office, so you should submit your application to the consulate general of PRC in Huston.
2. It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks.
3. You can go there to pick it up in person or entrust someone to do it for you.
