Arriving at Beijing (9am), then to the Philippines via Guangzhou (2.30 pm), 24h transit possible?

Im flying to Beijing (arriving at 9am), then my flight to the Philippines leaves at 2.30pm that same day, stopping at Guangzhou for 2 hours. I guess that I don't need to go through the police control as I will only change from one boarding gate to another. But I want to make sure anyway.
