Research and University visit visa

I am planning a visit a research visit from my university in the UK and hope to visit Chinese universities to talk about my work. Which type of entry permit should I get?

Steve, if you have contacted with the Chinese universities, and then one of them can issue you an invitation letter, I think an F type is for your choice.
