am I eligible for the 72-hour visa free transit

Hello, my agent told me I still need to get an entry permit because it's consider 4 days..I even showed them this site . I leave US on Mar 24 & arrive Beijing Fri Mar 25 at 3:30pm and leave Beijing Mon Mar 28 at 2:05pm to Japan. Do I qualify for the 72 hrs free transit or should I ask the consulate when I get there tomorrow?
