Will a Philippine citizen need a visa to stay in a hotel for a 13 hour layover in Guangzhou?

I am travelling with my girlfriend from Manila to London, she is a Philippines citizen, I am UK. Will she need a visa to stay in a hotel as we have a 13 hour layover in GZ. I know I can get a transit visa at the airport.

Dear Edwin, your girlfriend and you are eligible to the 24h visa-free policy. So no visa is needed. Just apply for a stay permit upon landing, and you can stay in the hotel.
