About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How about this: Hanoi to Beijing (with transit in Hong Kong) and 2 days later Beijing to Hong Kong?

Would that itinerary qualify for the 72-hour transit visa? Technically, my flight to Beijing is from Hong Kong and my flight from Beijing is to Hong Kong -- but I am not staying in Hong Kong on the way to Beijing - only changing planes. Thank you!

Mark, sorry, I’m afraid it doesn’t qualify for the 72 hour policy because after transit in Beijing, you fly back to HK. Even though you just change plane in HK, it is regarded as a stopover. So you’d better apply for a tourist L type or transit G type ahead of time.
