The best sights in Shanghai is definitely the Bund area, Huangpu River cruise, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Museum, or water towns, etc. Forbidden city is in Beijing. You can take flight or high speed train from Shanghai to Beijing and visit the highlights there in two or three days.0
