About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

When my tourist visa expires

I flew from Thailand and I'm currently in China with a 30 day tourist L type, if I fly up to Beijing when my entry permit expires can I stay in Beijing for 72 hours before flying onto Malaysia?
thanks

No that doesn't work, sorry.
You must have a flight from outside China not a domestic flight into Beijing.

Ok, if I flew to HK to Beijing and then Malaysia would it still not count?

You mean you will fly to HK first and then fly in to Beijing, after that, fly out to Malaysia, if so, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit.
