Cameraman Filming in China

Hi, I have been asked to record footage for a training video at factories around PRC where they produce some of their products, such as outdoor furniture. I live in the Seattle area and we have a consular office. I don't have set dates or locations yet. Do you know what "type" of visa I should apply for and can this be done without specific date & location information? Thank You.

Bob, I think you should apply for a business M type at the consulate general of PRC in San Francisco.
You can ask the factory to issue an invitation letter to you. Inside the invitation letter and the application form, you can write the rough travel date and location information.
