Multiple transit under 24 hours

Hello! I'm a British citizen looking to transit in China going to Myanmar. The flights stop in Shangai and then Kunming before going on to Myanmar. The scheduled times mean I will not be in PRC for longer than 24 hours. Is the 24 hour transit exemption still valid? Can I do multiple stopovers under the exemption?
Thank you!

KG, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit, and you can do multiple stopovers under the exemption.
