Group tourist Visa

How does the group tourist L type work? I am from the Philippines and this is being offered by Travel Agencies.
Is this legal? What is the difference from regular entry permit and what's the minimum number of persons to avail it? Do we need to have a tour guide travelling with us in and out of China?

Aj, after you book a tour, the travel agency will get the group tourist L type for you, and it is legal.
Compared with regular entry permit, group tourist L type is one paper for all group members, instead of on everyone’s passport. Once you enter with group tourist L type, you have to travel with the tourist group.
As far as I know, a tourist group will have at least 5 persons. You need a tour guide to receive you and send you off at the airport.
