About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for the 72 hour visa free transit??

Hi, I'm flying into Beijing from Hong Kong at 5pm on the 5th and have a flight back to the UK on the 9th at 2am. If I get through the airport security before midnight on the 8th am I safe to use the 72 hour free transit? Also, how do I apply for it?
Thank you

Autumn, your layover time is more than 72 hours. So you are not eligible for the policy. I don’t think what you said above can work. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type beforehand.
