How to pay the bus fare in Hong Kong?

If it's public bus, you can pay cash or use the Octopus Card. It's suggested to buy the card. It brings some convenience and you can also enjoy some discounts.
if it's long-distance bus, you can buy the tickets at the booth nearby pick-up station by cash.
