Can I Travel to Guangzhou Under 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I fly from the UK to Guangzhou and then 72 hours later leaves Guangzhou for a weeks holiday in Hong Kong before returning back to the UK, can I stay in Guangzhou without applying for an entry permit?

Ford, if so, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou and don’t need to apply for an entry permit.
