do we need a visa??

Question

My husband and I are going on a cruise from Beijing. We' re UK Passport holders and we're flying from London to Beijing and staying 3 nights in Beijing before catching the ship.  We will be 6 nights on the ship then coming back to Shanghai for another 3 nights stay before flying back to the UK.  Do we need an entry permit?

From uk to Beijing for 3 nights then we're going on the cruise to South Korea and then to Japan the back to Shainghai for 3 nights before flying back to UK. Do we need a multiple entry permit?

Dear, according to what you just said above, you just need a single entry permit for your first entry to Beijing. As for yoru second entry to Shanghai, you can use the 144 hour free transit.
