About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Switzerland - HKG - Shanghai - Switzerland

I will be staying 3 days in HKG and 2 days in Shanghai. For my stay in HKG, I have applied for the transit/visit visa, do I qualify for a 72-hour free transit for my stay in Shanghai?

Simone, can I know which passport you hold? If you hold Switzerland passport, you can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of no more than 90 days. And you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai if you will fly to a third country or region after transiting in Shanghai.

Dear Fatima, I hold a French passport. Can I also enjoy free entry to HKG (stay 3 days) and 72 hour free transit (stay 2 days) in Shanghai? I will be flying to Japan from Shanghai. Thanks.
