can I get transit visa for cruise stop over Shanghai and end cruise Bejing fly out same day

I am cruising from Singapore to Beijing on the Sapphire Princess with a 1 day stopover in Shanghai. The cruise ends in Beijing where I will go from the ship to the airport direct and fly out same day. What sort of entry permit will I need. I'm getting conflicting advice.
