visa requirement for malaysian citizen

Hi! I will be departing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Busan, South Korea on 10th March 2016. I will be transit in Shanghai for 6 hours. Do I have to apply an entry permit if I wanted to leave the airport during the layover? My friend will be also joining me but she is a Somali passport holder. Please advise us. Thank you.
