Wish to visit PRC to see Beijing for 3 days

Hello,
We are residents of USA and passport holders of India.
We will fly to India via HK for vacation in summer. We Wanted to halt for 3 days in HK to go and see Beijing and return to HK to go on to India.
Can you advise if I need VISA? For both China and HK?
