About:Chinese Embassy in Italy

Australian Citizen applying for a tourist visa to China from Northern Italy.

I am currently in Italy (near Milan) and am planning to go to PRC in a few weeks. Is it possible for me to apply for a tourist L type entry permit to PRC from Italy without a "permit of stay certificate"? I wasn't planning on staying in Italy for more than 3 months so i originally thought i would not need the certificate.
Cheers in advance.

Dear, if you don’t have that certificate, I’m afraid you cannot apply for it from there because according to the requirement, for citizen of extra-EU country, only those holding Italian permit of stay with more than 6 months validity from the date of application can apply for it in Milan.
