First time applying China Visa, couldn't find previous Chinese passport

I'm trying to apply PRC entry permit for the first time after getting my US passport. But I cannot find my previous PRC passport anymore. What should I do? Thanks!

Well, you need to contact the embassy and see what document can be used to take place of your previous passport. I heard some people say they were required to submit an official document with their Chinese name on it.
