About:China Visa on Arrival

My wife wants to take my son to China to visit family. Can he get a visa at Luohu?

My wife is a Chinese citizen but my son is Chinese. He will not get his passport until Wednesday next week at the earliest. Due to weekends and Chinese New Year he would not be able to get an entry permit from the local consulate until Thursday Feb 11 at the earliest.

David, you mean your son is not Chinese? If so, he can apply for VOA at Luohu Port. But the VOA is only valid for 5 days.

Thanks Luke.
My son is Australian. Will she be able to arrange a longer visa in the local government area she lives in? When I was living and working in PRC I was able to apply for it every few months in the city in which we lived.

David, I’m sorry. I’m afraid she cannot do that.
