z-visa re-entering possible issues

Question

Hi there, I currently am working with a company that isn't the same one that sponsored my initial work Z type. I quit them on and they refused to give me cancellation of my foreign expert certificate so I was unable to get a new Z type at this current employer. I am still in the same city as the current employer but I will be traveling to the US, and I want to know if I will be able to re-enter china with this Z type and residency permit. They don't expire until May but I'm wondering if the old school could have done anything to affect my legal status here.

Dear, it’s possible for you to re-enter PRC with your residence permit. And you’d better renew it before you exit.But your previous employer may inform the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to cancel your residence permit. If she/he did that, you cannot re-enter with your residence permit any more.
