are local brand cigarettes same quality as american cigarettes?

Should I avoid local brands and buy American brand cigarettes (Marlboro, etc.)?

Amber, I am afraid that you may not get used to Chinese cigarettes. My dad is a heavy smoker. He used to have two packs per day. Once I bought American brand cigarettes for him, he said it didn't taste good because it wasn't strong enough.  Forgot to say, I am a Chinese.
